From Mental Health to School Safety: Student, Staff Reports

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce that nearly 200 indicators from the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) and California School Climate Survey (CSCS) are now live on kidsdata.org. Data updated to 2011-13 can be found in the following topics:

Bullying and Harassment at School (summary)
Dating and Domestic Violence (summary)
Gang Involvement (summary)
School Safety (summary)
Truancy, Suspensions & Expulsions (summary)
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (summary)
Community Connectedness (summary)
Emotional/Mental Health (summary)
School Connectedness (summary)
Suicide and Self-Inflicted Injury (summary)
Health Care (summary)
Nutrition (summary)

The publication of these datasets and associated narrative information was made possible through a continuing partnership with WestEd and the California Department of Education. Student and teacher responses round out our understanding of such important and sensitive topics as bullying, suicide, and substance use.
